I absolutely cannot wait for summer! Even spring for that matter!
I’ve never been much of a baseball person…I mean, I grew up with the Angels and the Dodgers in my backyard but I wasn’t a crazy fan of either team. My new place is “Wrigley adjacent” as I like to call it, and this spring and summer is going to be crazy as people travel in for games and concerts alike. Who knows – by the end of this summer I could be a true blue Cubs fan.
Life in Chicago is so different from LA, and I really love it. I love that I can take public transportation just about anywhere I want to go. I love that chain restaurants are difficult, if not impossible to find in the heart of the city. I love that gastro-pubs, micro breweries, boutique shops and product specific food shops line the streets in all the neighborhoods. It has such character everywhere you go, not just in specific parts like LA.
I got a little carried away a couple of days ago and took Mason right along with me. She bought tickets for us to Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z at Soldier Field this summer, and 2 minutes later I bought tickets for us to Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson at Wrigley Field. The concerts are 3 days apart. Who does that? I guess we do…because we did. Mason just shook her head and said…”I think having you here is going to be a very expensive adventure”. I think she might be right..but I’ve never lived conservatively. Eventually I’ll start picking up tickets to the broadway shows pulling through Chicago – starting with tickets to Book of Mormon. All I can say is thank goodness the run has been extended into the fall so I’m not being pressure into going next weekend…because I’d do it if I had to.
If there is one thing I worry about, it’s how carried away I could get in this fabulous city. At the same time, #57 getting carried away is half the fun.

Summer of Dawn! Let’s hope it’s more successful than Summer of Mason, Take 1.
Yes…lol…I am going to try not to break anything…
